West Hants RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit charge two people with drug offences

The West Hants RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) has charged two people with drug offences following a search at a home in Windsor.

On June 5, 2024, the West Hants RCMP SCEU, with the assistance of West Hants RCMP Detachment, Kentville Police Service and Annapolis SCEU, conducted a traffic stop on Wentworth Rd. in Windsor and arrested a man as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

Officers subsequently executed a search warrant at a home on Victoria St. in Windsor and arrested a woman. During the search, officers seized a quantity of what is believed to be cocaine, prescription pills, psilocybin, and drug paraphernalia.

Samantha Michelle O'Leary, 31, and Matthew James Wright, 37, both of Windsor, have been charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (three counts)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

Wright has also been charged with Operation While Prohibited and Failure to Comply with Order.

O'Leary and Wright were released on conditions and will appear in Windsor Provincial Court on a future date.
