Update: Swift Current Rural RCMP on scene of serious collision on Highway #4

On November 5, 2024 at approximately 3:30 p.m., Swift Current Rural RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway #4 near the intersection of Highway #363. The collision occurred approximately six kilometers south of Swift Current, SK.

Officers responded, along with local fire and EMS. Investigation determined a southbound SUV and northbound car collided. The driver and two passengers in the car were declared deceased at the scene. They have been identified as a 41-year-old female, a 14-year-old female and a 13-year-old female, all from the Swift Current Rural RCMP Detachment area. Their families have been notified.

The adult male driver and sole occupant of the SUV was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.

Swift Current Rural RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

Swift Current RCMP are responding to a report of a serious collision involving two vehicles on Highway #4 about four kilometers south of Swift Current, SK.

The highway is currently closed and detours are in place. Motorists should expect delays.

Please slow down as you approach the area and follow the directions of emergency personnel on scene.

As this investigation is in its preliminary stages, we can't confirm if the collision is weather-related. However, officers in the area have reported that there is poor visibility and roads are slippery. If you must travel, please slow down. Consider delaying travel in the area if possible.
