Saskatchewan RCMP's Saskatoon Warrant Enforcement and Response Team (WEST) has arrested five individuals in the Lloydminster area who were wanted on multiple outstanding warrants.
On November 5, 2024, Saskatoon WEST officers, with the assistance of Lloydminster RCMP's General Investigation Section (GIS) and Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), located and arrested 23-year-old Shania Heathen of Lloydminster at a business in Lloydminster, SK.
She was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Maidstone RCMP for possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, as well as for breaching her conditional sentence order. She is also facing a new charge of possession of schedule I substance (fentanyl). Heathen was held in custody pending her court appearance.
Heathen was located with Tamarah Dillon, a 31-year-old female from Edmonton, AB, who was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Onion Lake RCMP for assault with weapon. She was also on a Canada-wide warrant from Correctional Service Canada for being unlawfully at large. Dillon was returned to custody and awaiting court on her criminal charges.
Prior to the arrests, officers witnessed Dylane McAllister, a 29-year-old male from Lloydminster, leaving the business. Lloydminster RCMP CRU arrested McAllister on an outstanding warrant from Maidstone RCMP for possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
On November 6, 2024, Saskatoon WEST officers determined Valance Wapass, a 40-year-old male from Onion Lake Cree Nation, SK, was at a residence on Thunderchild First Nation, SK. Wapass was wanted on outstanding warrants from Onion Lake and Turtleford RCMP for charges including assault with a weapon, assault, uttering threats and five counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
WEST officers contained the area around the residence and arrested Wapass without incident with the assistance of the Saskatchewan RCMP's Critical Incident Response Team. Wapass was held in custody pending his court appearance.
On November 7, 2024, Saskatoon WEST located and arrested Garett Stanley at a residence on Onion Lake Cree Nation, SK. Stanley, a 23-year-old male from Onion Lake Cree Nation, was arrested on a Canada-wide warrant from Correctional Service Canada for being unlawfully at large. He was returned to custody.
Lloydminster RCMP's GIS and CRU, Turtleford RCMP, and the Saskatchewan RCMP's Critical Incident Response Team assisted Saskatoon WEST in these investigations.
