The Perth-Andover RCMP is seeking the public's help following an assault with a weapon in Bairdsville, N.B.

On September 8, 2024, at approximately 10 a.m., the Perth-Andover RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon that occurred outside of a residence on Route 130, in Bairdsville. An individual had been transported to hospital with what were believed to be serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

"Based on the information to date, we have reason to believe this is an isolated incident and that there is no risk to the public," says Sgt. James Gallant of the Perth-Andover RCMP. "We are asking anyone who may have information that could help further the investigation to come forward."

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the assault to contact the Perth-Andover RCMP at 506-273-5000. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.

The investigation is ongoing.
