RCMP lay charges following quick arrest, recovered stolen truck

Police quickly arrested a 37-year-old man from Hampton, N.B., following the recovery of a stolen truck in Minto, N.B.

On November 14, 2024, at approximately 1 p.m., members of the Minto RCMP Detachment were made aware of a stolen truck being driven in Minto.

When police arrived in the area of Slope Road, they located the truck backed into a residential driveway, and the driver standing near the front door of the residence.

The first member on scene activated his emergency equipment and pulled into the driveway. The 37-year-old man proceeded to jump back in the truck, and pulled forward striking the police vehicle, before driving in reverse through the garage door causing extensive damage. A second police officer arrived on scene and was able to promptly arrest the man inside the garage. Minor injuries were sustained to the second police officer during the arrest.

On November 15, 2024, 37-year-old Jeremy Matthew Booker appeared in Fredericton Provincial Court and was charged with:

-Assault police officer with weapon
-Operation a conveyance dangerous to public
-Possession of stolen property
-Mischief over $5,000
-Operate motor vehicle while prohibited

He was remanded into custody and will return to court at a later date.

At the time of the incident, Jeremy Booker also had a Canada-Wide warrant out for his arrest in relation to Federal Parole Violations.

The New Brunswick RCMP's Southeast and West Districts Crime Reduction Units and Police Dog Services assisted with the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
