RCMP investigates sexual assaults involving child victims

Lunenburg District RCMP is investigating sexual offences that occurred at a school.

On October 25, 2023, Lunenburg District RCMP received a report of sexual assaults believed to have occurred at Pentz Elementary School involving a male employee and a child victim; the employee has not been present in the school since October 26, 2023.

Lunenburg District RCMP, with the assistance of Nova Scotia Child Welfare Services, initiated an investigation immediately. Through the investigation, including victim and witness interviews, additional victims have come forward.

Investigators believe there may be other victims and are now appealing to parents and guardians to talk with their children. Please report any information or additional incidents to Cpl. Due to provisions of the Privacy Act, and to protect the victims, the name of the school employee will not be disclosed at this time. Any form of vigilante activity or other unreasonable conduct against the employee will not be tolerated.
