The Richibucto RCMP is asking for the public's help following a shooting incident in Saint-Antoine, N.B.

On August 26, 2024, at approximately 4:40 a.m., members of the Richibucto RCMP responded to a report of shots fired near a residence on Camille Street in Saint-Antoine.

When police arrived at the scene, they located a man who was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

At the time, the incident was believed to be isolated and did not meet the criteria for an Alert Ready message.

"The RCMP is committed to ensuring the safety of the communities we serve," says Sgt. Guillaume Belanger with the Richibucto detachment. "If you have any information regarding this incident, please come forward. Even the smallest detail can bring us closer to apprehending the individual responsible."

Anyone who has video footage, witnessed the shooting, or has information that could help further the investigation is asked to call the Richibucto RCMP at 506-523-4611. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.

The investigation is ongoing.
