Two individuals have been charged following a shooting incident that occurred in Saint-Antoine, N.B.

On August 26, 2024, at approximately 4:40 a.m., members of the Richibucto RCMP responded to a report of shots fired near a residence on Camille Street in Saint-Antoine. When members arrived on scene, an individual was located with a gunshot wound, and was transported to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Between August 30 and September 1, 2024, the New Brunswick RCMP's Southeast Crime Reduction Unit arrested three individuals in connection with the shooting. One individual was released on conditions with a future date.

On September 4, 2024, 31-year-old Justin Richard appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with attempted murder. He was remanded into custody.

On the same day, an 18-year-old woman also appeared in Moncton Provincial Court was and charged with accessory to attempted murder, was later released on strict conditions and will appear in Moncton Provincial Court at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing.
