Prince District RCMP arrest 36-year-old Harmony man following crime spree.

August 13, 2024, Tyne Valley PE – On August 12, 2024 shortly after 4:00 p.m. RCMP made an arrest in the Tyne Valley area of a 36 year-old Harmony man following several incidents including, assaults, flight from police, dangerous operation, attempted theft of vehicles, resist arrest, and prohibited driving.

On August 12, RCMP and Summerside Police Services were attempting to locate 36-year-old Jimmy Lee Arsenault in connection incidents involving Arsenault in both jurisdictions. RCMP learned of an additional assault in progress and the man was located in Wellington but fled in a car driving dangerously. He was later located in Tyne Valley where he again attempted to evade police in a car. He was arrested at the scene while trying to take command of another vehicle occupied by a person not known to him.

RCMP were investigating Arsenault for offences that took place on August 8th as well including:

  • Mischief for cutting off an ankle monitor,
  • Theft of truck from Miscouche, operation while prohibited, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. Police used a spike belt to stop Arsenault causing him to abandon the stolen truck.
  • Break and enter and theft of an ATV from Alma, flight from police, dangerous operation, operation while prohibited,
  • Theft of gasoline

He has been charged with multiple assault, theft and driving related offences.

Arsenault will appear in Summerside Provincial court later today.
