Police seeking information after shots fired in North Preston

The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is seeking information in relation to shots fired at a home in North Preston.

On July 14, at approximately 3 a.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responded to a report of shots fired at a residence located on Cain St. near Churchill Terrace. RCMP officers learned that the occupants of a home, a 50-year-old woman and 51-year-old man, both from North Preston, heard multiple gun shots and bullets impacting the home.

No injuries were sustained in the incident.

At the scene, officers seized empty casings and documented damage to the exterior of the home consistent with bullet holes.

The investigation, led by the General Investigative Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division with assistance from the RCMP Forensic Identification Section, is ongoing. At this time, officers do not believe the incident was random.
