Man arrested and charged in connection with St. Andrews arson

The St. Andrews RCMP has arrested a 40-year-old man in connection with an arson in the community.

On August 9, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., members of the St. Andrews RCMP received a report of a structure fire on Parr Street. The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

When police arrived at the scene, they were able to quickly identify a person of interest. On August 10, 40-year-old Jeremy Cahill was arrested without incident and was remanded into custody.

On August 12, Jeremy Cahill appeared in Saint John Provincial Court and was charged with arson. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
