On July 26, 2024, at approximately 9 a.m., members of the Neguac and Tracadie RCMP detachments executed a search warrant at a residence on St. Anne Street. During the search, police seized quantities of what are believed to be cocaine, crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and money.
A 50-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were arrested at the scene. Both individuals were later released on conditions, and are scheduled to appear in Miramichi Provincial Court at a later date.
Members of the RCMP's Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), RCMP Police Dog Services, and the Miramichi Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) also assisted with the investigation. The New Brunswick IEU's are made up of members from the New Brunswick RCMP, as well as municipal police and Justice and Public Safety officers in the province. These efforts aim to improve the coordinated response to the growing concerns of drugs, firearms, and organized crime within New Brunswick.
