June 25, 2024, Montague PE – On June 22, Kings District RCMP were called to several thefts and disturbances in Montague within a few minutes of each other. A 29-year-old Kings County woman was arrested and remanded into custody.

On June 22, 2024, Kings District RCMP received a report of a disturbance at a residence in Montague shortly before 6 p.m. Police attended and learned a woman had done some damage inside an apartment; she had fled the scene before police arrived. The woman was arrested, and while being transported to the police car, she spat on one of the officers. Police also learned that the accused had stolen a vehicle from a residence in Montague just before the incident at the apartment and that a person had let the woman use their cell phone, and she then ran away with the phone. The woman was remanded into custody on unrelated matters.

Police are investigating the following offences: Unlawful in dwelling, Mischief under $5000, Mischief over $5000, Assault on a Peace Officer, Theft of a motor vehicle, and Impaired operation of a motor vehicle. Once these investigations are complete, police will determine the most appropriate charges.
