Twenty-nine-year-old Dean Langdon was arrested by Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP on October 29, 2024, in relation to an armed robbery that occurred earlier that morning at Pond View Variety in Grand Falls-Windsor.
At approximately 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, police received the report of the robbery. A man, armed with a knife, entered the store and stole a quantity of cash, lottery tickets and other items.
The suspect was identified as Dean Langdon, who was wanted for recently failing to appear in court in relation to charges of break and enter. Police patrolled the area and located Langdon at a nearby residence. After brief negotiations at the home, Langdon surrendered to police without further incident. Officers recovered some of the stolen property, as well as the knife that was used during the crime.
In relation to this incident, Langdon is charged with the following criminal offences:
- Robbery with a weapon
- Possession of a concealed weapon
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Failing to comply with a court release order
He has a number of other charges currently before the court, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, wearing a disguise with intent to commit a criminal offence, break and enter, multiple counts of failing to comply with a release order, as well as firearms related offences.
Langdon attended court on October 30, 2024, and was remanded into custody. His next court appearance is on November 13, 2024.
