Chantelle is described as 5'6

On June 28, 2024 at approximately 11:00 a.m., Big River RCMP received a report of a break and enter at a rural residence near Debden, SK.

Investigation has determined five firearms and a credit card were stolen from the residence.

As a result of continued investigation, officers determined the suspects were driving a white pick-up truck. Officers later located the suspect vehicle on Highway #55 near Debden. Officers attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle did not stop and fled at a high rate of speed. Officers patrolled to locate it.

On June 29, 2024 at approximately 12:40 a.m., Big River RCMP received a report of a suspicious white pick-up truck parked next to a residence on Big River First Nation. Officers responded immediately, locating the white pick-up truck and confirming it was the vehicle that fled earlier. Further investigation determined that the vehicle was previously reported stolen out of Aberdeen, SK.

Investigators determined that an individual had fled into the bushes beside the residence. With the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP's Police Dog Services and Remote Piloted Aircraft System, an adult male was located and arrested.

49-year-old Aaron Tawpisim from Muskeg Lake Cree Nation is charged with:

  • one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, flight from peace officer, Section 320.17, Criminal Code;
  • two counts, possession of property obtained by crime less than $5000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, dangerous operation of motor vehicle, Section 320.13(1), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, possess break-in instruments, Section 351(1), Criminal Code.

Aaron Tawpisim appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on July 2, 2024.

30-year-old Chantelle Lachance from Big River First Nation is charged with:

  • one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • two counts, possession of property obtained by crime less than $5000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, possess break-in instruments, Section 351(1), Criminal Code.

A warrant is issued for Chantelle Lachance's arrest. Big River RCMP continue to work to locate and arrest her.

Chantelle is described as 5'6" tall and 140 lbs. She has black hair and brown eyes.
