39-year-old man sentenced to 7 years in connection with drug trafficking investigations

A 39-year-old man from Sackville has been sentenced to seven years in prison in connection with a number of drug trafficking investigations in southeastern New Brunswick.

On April 10, 2024, Colt LeBlanc plead guilty to the following charges in connection with an investigation from November 2023, led by the New Brunswick RCMP's Provincial Crime Reduction Unit (PCRU).

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Resisting or obstructing a peace officer
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm or restricted weapon
  • Possession of a firearm or prohibited weapon when knowing possession is unauthorized
  • Weapons possession contrary to an order and failure to surrender authorization

Also, on April 10, 2024, Colt LeBlanc plead guilty to charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 in connection with a joint investigation from February 2022 by the Cumberland County Integrated Street Crime enforcement Unit, and the Southeast District RCMP.

On the same day, Colt LeBlanc plead guilty to the following charges in connection with an investigation from April 2021, led by the Southeast District RCMP:

  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime equal to or less than $5000
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking opioids
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon

On May 6, 2024, Colt LeBlanc was sentenced to a total global sentence of seven years in prison, minus time served. He was ordered to forfeit over $154,000 in seized money to the crown, and will be subject to a ten-year weapons prohibition upon his release.
