32-year-old woman and 43-year-old man die following head-on collision

A 32-year-old woman, and a 43-year-old man, have died following a head-on collision on Highway 15 in Moncton, N.B.

On December 15, 2024, at approximately 5:28 p.m., members of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of a head-on collision between two vehicles on Highway 15, in Moncton.

The driver of the first vehicle, a 32-year-old woman from Moncton, N.B., was transported to hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries. The two passengers in her vehicle were transported to hospital with what were believed to be minor injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 43-year-old man from Moncton, N.B., was transported to hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries. The two passengers in his vehicle were also transported to hospital, with what are believed to be serious injuries.

The collision is believed to have occurred when the first car was travelling eastbound in the westbound lane of Highway 15 and collided head-on with the second vehicle.

Members of the Moncton Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, New Brunswick's Coroner's office, and an RCMP collision reconstructionist also attended the scene. The Remotely Piloted Aircraft System was also deployed to assist with the investigation.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death for both the woman and the man.

The investigation is ongoing.
