As a result of continued investigation by Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, an adult female was charged in connection to the homicide of William Byblow.

On December 1, 2023, with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP's Forensic Identification Services and Yorkton Detachment, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes arrested a female adult.

61-year-old Donna Spilchen is charged with one count, second degree murder, Section 235(1), Criminal Code.

She is remanded and scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes continues to investigate.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes investigating a homicide in Yorkton

On November 30, 2023 at approximately 9:15 a.m., Yorkton RCMP received a request to complete a welfare check at a residence on 6th Avenue North in Yorkton. Officers responded and located a deceased adult male.

Yorkton RCMP secured the scene for further investigation. Due to the circumstances of the incident, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is investigating the male's death, which is considered a homicide. The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is working to positively identify the victim.

RCMP are also working to locate 61-year-old Donna Spilchen (Radom) to confirm her safety. Donna is described as approximately 5' and 120 lbs. She has black hair. We don't have a photo available at this time.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is asking residents to report all information about her whereabouts immediately.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is also asking anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity, or captured video surveillance footage, in the area of 6th Avenue North in Yorkton in the early hours of November 30, to contact them.
