Have you ever wanted to apply to the RCMP, but didn't want to leave New Brunswick? Well, now you don't have to!
The J Division RCMP is kick-starting an initiative to bring New Brunswick applicants back to the province after successfully completing the 6-month Depot training.
The initiative surrounds a "Pre-Posting Agreement" which will return New Brunswickers to their home province! This agreement can help those that have always wanted to join the RCMP, but have been held back due to mobility restrictions.
Important things to note:
- Applicants will still need to meet the minimum requirements (Qualifications and standards to become an RCMP officer | Royal Canadian Mounted Police (rcmp-grc.gc.ca) and successfully complete our 6-month training course at Depot Academy, located in Regina, SK.
- Pre-Posting Agreements cannot be guaranteed to each and every applicant and will be based on the operational needs of the province.
- Mobility within the province of New Brunswick will still be required. Specific posting locations (city/town) will not be guaranteed.
- Those that are seeking postings outside New Brunswick can still seek that adventure!
With New Brunswick's ever-growing need for police officers, the promise of bringing applicants back home will go directly towards supporting our front-line operations.
"This new initiative is very exciting for the people of New Brunswick who are looking to serve and protect their local communities by becoming a member of the RCMP." – Cst. Martine Losier-Roy
