Driver on Confederation Bridge charged with refusing breath demand.

July 8, 2023 Borden-Carleton - On July 8th, at 5:33 PM, East Prince RCMP responded to a driving complaint on the Confederation Bridge, a 30-year-old driver was arrested for failing to provide a breath sample.

On July 8th, at 5:33 PM , East Prince RCMP responded to a driving complaint on the Confederation Bridge and located the vehicle in Borden-Carleton. As a result of the investigation the driver was given the breath demand to test for alcohol but the 30 year-old-male-driver refused to provide a sample of his breath. The vehicle was impounded and the accused will appear court in Summerside on September 13th, 2023 to answer to charges of refusal. Failure to provide a breath sample carries similar penalties to failing a breath test.
