Big River First Nation, Saskatchewan
29 charges have been laid against 23-year-old Tristan Clay Whitefish of Big River First Nation in relation to the below investigation.
Charges include:
- Discharge firearm with intent, section 244 of the Criminal Code
- Aggravated assault, section 268(2) of the Criminal Code
- Multiple counts, Point a firearm, section 87(2) of the Criminal Code
- Multiple counts, Uttering threats, section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, section 320.17 of the Criminal Code
- Operation of a motor vehicle while pursued by a peace officer and failure to stop, 320.17 of the Criminal Code
- Unlawfully at large, section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of a prohibited weapon, section 91(3) of the Criminal Code
- Fail to comply with a probation order, section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code
Tristan Whitefish has not been located and there is a Saskatchewan-wide warrant for his arrest.
He is described as approximately 5'7" tall and 170 pounds. He has dark hair and brown eyes, as well as tattoos on both temples.

Big River RCMP investigating firearms-related incidents

Residents of Big River First Nation may notice an increased police presence in the community as Big River RCMP works to investigate several firearms-related incidents.
On September 18, Big River RCMP received a report of an injured individual on Big River First Nation. The individual was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious. Investigation determined the victim was involved in an altercation with an adult male.
Further investigation has determined the same adult male approached two residences on Big River First Nation and threatened occupants with a firearm. One incident occurred on September 18 and one on September 19. No injuries were reported to police.
Big River RCMP are actively investigating these incidents with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP's Police Dog Services, Critical Incident Response Team and Crime Reduction Team.
The suspect is described as approximately 5'7" tall and 170 pounds. He has dark hair and brown eyes, as well as tattoos on both temples.
If you see the suspect, do not approach him.
