On May 29, 2023, at approximately 6:33 p.m., Ahtahkakoop/Shellbrook RCMP received the report of an armed robbery of a 2013 Toyota Venza (SK license plate 745 MLS) hybrid SUV from a residence on the Ahtahkakoop First Nation.
Police responded immediately. The victim did not report any physical injury to police and did not require medical assistance. Initial information provided to police determined a 25-year-old female, Danah Bird, and two unknown males were involved. The female and the victim are known to each other.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Danah Bird, from Ahtahkakoop First Nation. She is charged with robbery with a firearm, contrary to Sec. 344 of the Criminal Code, and operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited, contrary to Sec. 320.18 of the Criminal Code.
Danah Bird is approximately 5'6" weighing 170 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes. She has a butterfly tattoo on her left hand and tattoos of written text on both wrists.
One of the males was described as having long, frizzy hair. The second male was described as being bald. Officers are working to gather clearer descriptors of the male suspects.
Big River RCMP were also called to assist with locating the stolen vehicle. Further investigation determined the vehicle and its three occupants stopped at a gas station in Shellbrook at approximately 6:44 p.m., before travelling east on Highway 3 toward Prince Albert.
Ahtahkakoop/Shellbrook RCMP notified the Prince Albert Police Service of the incident and the stolen vehicle's direction of travel. A public advisory in the detachment area was issued to inform the community of the incident and to encourage residents to report sightings on the stolen vehicle. Ahtahkakoop RCMP continue to conduct proactive patrols, interviews and are following-up on information provided to them to assist with locating the male suspect and stolen vehicle.
If you see the 2013 Toyota Venza (SK license plate 745 MLS) or its occupants, do not approach and report this sighting to police immediately.
