Two men from Prince Edward Island have been charged with drug trafficking offences following an investigation in Gladeside, N.B.

On September 27, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m., members of the Richibucto RCMP Detachment responded to a report of two men who were acting suspiciously, walking on Highway 490 towards Moncton. Police arrived on scene and located the two individuals, a 36-year-old man from Kensington, PEI, and a 25-year-old man from Summerside, PEI. One man provided police with false identification, and both men were subsequently arrested.

Following the arrest, police searched the two men and seized quantities of what was believed to be fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, crack cocaine, various pills, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

On September 28, Kevin Jay of Kensington, and Tyson Wall of Summerside, appeared in Moncton Provincial Court by way of tele-remand. They were each charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine

They were remanded into custody, and are scheduled to return to court on October 3 for a bail hearing.

The investigation is ongoing.
