Placentia RCMP arrests man in Jerseyside during residential break and enter

Twenty-eight-year-old Sherlock Stacey of St. John's was arrested by Placentia RCMP on February 1, 2022, following a residential break and enter in Jerseyside.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., police received a report of a disturbance outside a residence on Blanche Street. While officers were en route to the call, they received further information that Stacey had broken into the home with the occupants inside.

Officers arrived and communicated with Stacey, who was still inside the residence. Police entered the home and safely removed the occupants. Stacey, who had barricaded himself inside a room, was located and was taken into custody without further incident.

Stacey attended court on February 2, 2022, and was remanded into custody. He is charged with break and enter into a dwelling, mischief (damage to property), and a breach of his probation order.
