Battlefords RCMP continues to investigate each incident of shots fired between December 10-13, 2022. Since these shootings, officers have increased their proactive patrols in the city to help maintain public safety. Battlefords RCMP have engaged the North Battleford RCMP Gang Task Force (GTF), a specialized team stationed within the detachment, whose mandate is to target organized crime, the drug trade and serious property crime.
On Thursday, December 15, 2022, the North Battleford RCMP GTF was conducting proactive patrols. Officers located a black SUV that matched the description of the suspect vehicle involved in the firearms incident where a female was shot at while driving on December 13. Battlefords RCMP completed a traffic stop of the vehicle in the city. Officers determined the black SUV was stolen. As a result of this investigation, two adult females were arrested and charged.
26-year-old Tracy Wright, of Moosomin First Nation, is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, contrary to Sec. 354(1) of the Criminal Code;
- Operate a motor vehicle while prohibited, contrary to Sec 320.18 of the Criminal Code; and
- Fail to comply with release order, contrary to Section 145(5) of the Criminal Code.
Wright has been remanded and is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 2 p.m.
40-year-old Allison Curley, of North Battleford, is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, contrary to Sec. 354(1) of the Criminal Code; and
- Two counts, Fail to comply with probation, contrary to Sec 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code.
Curley has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on February 6, 2023, at 2 p.m.
Further information gathered by North Battleford RCMP revealed a second vehicle was associated with the stolen black SUV. Officers launched another investigation and were able to locate and conduct a traffic stop on this vehicle in the city the same day. A search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating illicit drugs and three sawed-off rifles. All items were seized and taken for further investigation. As a result of this investigation, an adult female and two adult males have been charged with multiple firearms and breach charges.
19-year-old Adrian Dreaver of North Battleford is charged with:
- Two counts, Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, contrary to Sec. 88(2) of the Criminal Code;
- Two counts, Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, contrary to Sec. 94(2) of the Criminal Code;
- Two counts, Possession of a prohibited weapon with ammo, contrary to Sec. 95(2) of the Criminal Code;
- Two counts, Unauthorized possession of a firearm, Sec. 91(3) of the Criminal Code;
- Possession of firearm contrary to order, contrary to Sec. 117.01(3) of the Criminal Code; and
- Possession of Methamphetamine, contrary to Sec. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Dreaver has been remanded and is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 2 p.m.
24-year-old Keagan Jackson of North Battleford is charged with:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, contrary to Sec. 88(2) of the Criminal Code;
- Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, contrary to Sec. 94(2) of the Criminal Code;
- Possession of firearm when unauthorized, contrary to Sec. 92(3) of the Criminal Code;
- Possession of a prohibited weapon with ammo, contrary to Sec. 95(2) of the Criminal Code;
- Carry concealed weapon, Sec. 90(2) of the Criminal Code;
- Possession of firearm contrary to order, contrary to Sec. 117.01(3) of the Criminal Code;
- Five counts, Fail to comply with release order, contrary to Sec. 145(5) of the Criminal Code.
Jackson has been remanded is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 2 p.m.
18-year-old Morningstar Moosomin of North Battleford has been charged with:
- Fail to comply with release order, contrary to Sec. 145(5) of the Criminal Code.
Moosomin has been released from custody and is scheduled to make her first appearance at North Battleford Provincial Court on January 23, 2023, at 2 p.m.
