"Five separate police files were concluded as a result of these arrests," says Sgt. Sarah Parke, Acting Detachment Commander, Bonnyville RCMP. "One call from a concerned citizen assisted with this investigation. No call is too small and we want to thank the public for being on the lookout for suspicious activity."
On April 7, 2018 at approximately 2:30 a.m., Bonnyville RCMP responded to a call regarding a theft from mail boxes. Police were able to locate and arrest a female suspect driving a vehicle in the area a short time later.
After further investigation, a search warrant was executed at a residence the same day at approximately 8:40 a.m.. Police seized various pieces of mail that did not belong to the female suspect, who was in custody, or another individual who was arrested during the search.
A 27-year-old female of Bonnyville has been charged multiple Criminal Code charges including:
- Possession of Break and enter instruments
- Mischief
- Theft of credit card
- Fail to comply (x2)
- Theft from mail (x31)
A 32-year-old male of Bonnyville was also charged with multiple Criminal Code charges including:
- Illegal possession of an identity document
- Fail to comply (x3)
- Theft from mail (x19)
They were released from custody after judicial hearings and are scheduled to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on April 17, 2018.
