Mastering Immediate Action Rapid Deployment at Depot

At Depot, cadets receive essential training in Immediate Action Rapid Deployment (IARD). This critical training equips them to swiftly identify, confront, and neutralize active threats that pose imminent danger to the public. Active threat means one or more individuals are trying to severely injure or cause death to multiple victims. This training helps cadets stay ready to protect others in these serious situations.

Through IARD, cadets learn the importance of teamwork with fellow officers and the public to effectively manage high-stakes situations. They are rigorously tested on their ability to make confident decisions and apply intervention techniques under pressure. Recognizing the type of threat and ensuring public safety are paramount in this training.

Once they're in the field, our officers maintain their IARD skills with regular updates, either during block training or as stand-alone courses, ensuring they stay sharp with the latest best practices.

Training at Depot isn't just about learning, it's about mastering the skills that keep our communities safe.
