Name the Puppy contest

Every year the RCMP Police Dog Service Training Centre (PDSTC) in Innisfail, Alberta, holds a contest for the children of Canada to help find names for future police dogs. The 13 winners come from every province and territory.

A new letter is selected each year to start the names. For 2025, all the names must begin with the letter “A”. PDSTC is looking for original and creative names that these dogs can wear with pride during their career serving Canadian communities.

The 2025 RCMP Name the Puppy Contest is now closed

Contest winners and the winning puppy names will be announced on April 17, 2025, on the RCMP website and Depot Division social media platforms. Thank you.
