RCMP Depot Division is pleased to share that there will be two back-to-back Sunset Ceremonies on June 30 and July 1, 2023.
Sunset Ceremonies include a foot-drill display performed by cadets or regular members wearing scarlet tunics and the ceremonial lowering of the Canadian flag at sunset. This year there are special guests lined up to highlight Police Dog Services and celebrate culture in our community. Depot's mascot Safety Bear will also be in attendance.
The Sunset Ceremonies take place at the RCMP Academy in Regina, Saskatchewan. All Sunset Ceremonies are free of charge. Public access to Depot is available via the RCMP Heritage Centre entrance at 5907 Dewdney Avenue. Gates will open at 5:00 PM. Ceremonies start promptly at 6:00 PM on the Parade Square.
To enjoy the full experience there are few things guests need to know:
- The RCMP Academy is an active training site and a secure facility. Access is controlled. Personal items may be searched on entry.
- This event potentially includes live cannon and rifle fire. We recommend guests bring hearing protection, especially for young children.
- Please do not bring your pets. Service dogs are welcome.
- Please bring a blanket or lawn chairs. Seating is not provided.
- We encourage guests with mobility needs to arrive early and park closest to the south end of the Heritage Centre parking lot.
- The RCMP Heritage Centre will operate a vehicle for those with mobility issues.

Quotes
With 150 years of experience behind us, it's our chance to show who we're made of, how we've grown and will continue to modernize. Depot Division has been planning to make this year's events extra special to commemorate RCMP 150. In addition to the traditional ceremony, there are local performers and demonstrations by Police Dog Services.
Chief Superintendent, Sylvie Bourassa-Muise, Commanding Officer, Depot Division
The Sunset Ceremonies have been a tradition here at Depot since the 1960's. One that honours our past with a look to the future. They are an all-around great way to come together and start off summer in Saskatchewan.
