RCMP investigates fatal collision in Wolfville Ridge

Kings District RCMP is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Wolfville Ridge.

This morning, at approximately 10:25 a.m., Kings District RCMP, fire services, and EHS, responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 101, near exit 11. RCMP officers learned that a tractor trailer and a GMC Sierra were travelling in opposite directions when they collided.

The driver and lone occupant of the GMC, a 77-year-old Delhaven man, suffered life threatening injuries. He was transported by EHS to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver and lone occupant of the tractor trailer, a 62-year-old man from Canaan in Kings County, did not suffer physical injuries.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Hwy. 101 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
