Two men die following single vehicle crash

A 33-year-old man and a 24-year-old man have died following a single-vehicle crash into Halls Creek in Moncton.

On December 31, 2024, at approximately 9:17 a.m., members of the Codiac Regional RCMP, the Moncton Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick responded to a report of a vehicle submerged in the river next to Church Street and Clement-Cormier Street in Moncton. A 33-year-old man and a 24-year-old man were found deceased inside the vehicle.

A New Brunswick RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist, a member of the New Brunswick Coroner's Office, and the General Investigations Section of the Codiac Regional RCMP are assisting with the investigation.

Autopsies have been scheduled to determine the men's exact causes of death.

Anyone who was travelling in, or who resides in the area and may have security camera, dash or doorbell cam footage between 6 p.m. on December 30, 2024, and December 31, 2024 at 9 a.m., is asked to contact police.
