On Oct. 31, 2024, the RCMP Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit (SAD CRU), assisted by RCMP Regina General Investigation Section, arrested a 25-year-old individual, a resident of Medicine Hat, Alta., after a 5-month investigation into cross jurisdictional break and enters into multiple Tim Horton's restaurants.
Between June and October of 2024, reports of break and enters into Tim Horton's were reported to twelve (12) Alberta locations, including, Brooks, High River, Hanna, Vermilion, Rocky Mountain House, Rocky View County, Strathmore, Drayton Valley, Didsbury, Stettler, and two in Wetaskiwin. There were also five (5) Saskatchewan locations, including Maple Creek, Kindersley, Swift Current, Saskatoon, and Indian Head, which fell victim to these crimes.
Through the investigation, RCMP learned the 25-year-old individual was in White City, Sask. On Oct. 31, 2024, after committing a break and enter, the 25-year-old individual was arrested outside a hotel in White City. A search warrant was executed on the 25-year-old individual's hotel room, vehicle and apartment in Medicine Hat, which resulted in the seizure of a quantity of cash, tools and firearms.
the 25-year-old individual, a resident of Medicine Hat, has been charged with seven (7) offences in Saskatchewan for break and enter to commit theft and possession of break in tools. Thirty-one (31) charges were laid in Alberta for break and enter to commit theft, possession of break in tools and unsafe storage of a firearm.
The 25-year-old individual was remanded to appear in Saskatchewan Court of Justice in Regina on Nov. 6, 2024.
