Bay St. George RCMP locates stolen vehicle, two individuals arrested

Bay St. George RCMP arrested two individuals, a 25-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, who were operating a stolen vehicle in Kippens on January 9, 2025.

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, police observed a SUV with a licence plate attached that did not belong to the vehicle. Subsequent checks determined that the vehicle was stolen from Deer Lake on January 2, 2025.

The two occupants departed the vehicle on foot and were subsequently arrested a short distance away by Bay St. George RCMP for possession of property obtained by crime. Both were released from custody and are set to appear in court at a later date. The man faces charges of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and possession of a prohibited weapon. The woman faces charges of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and failure to comply with a condition of an undertaking.
