Update: Increased police presence in Carnduff Detachment area

On July 24, 2024 at approximately 7:00 a.m., Saskatchewan RCMP's Critical Incident Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in Alida, SK as part of an ongoing investigation into multiple residential break and enters that occurred in the Alida area in spring 2024.

An adult female and a male youth were arrested at the scene.

Officers located and seized a number of items, including a firearm, magazines, electronics and identification cards that did not belong to the occupants of the residence.

As a result of continued investigation, on July 25, 2024, two adult males and an adult female were arrested in Estevan, SK.

23-year-old Ashley Myers from Alida, SK is charged with:

  • one count, breaking, entering, and committing, Section 348(1)(b), Criminal Code;
  • one count, fail to comply with probation order, Section 733.1(1), Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, unsafe storage of firearms, Section 86(2), Criminal Code;
  • one count, unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, Section 92(3), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, possession of restricted weapon with ammunition without license/registration, Section 95(2), Criminal Code.

58-year-old Jody Bonnor from Alida, SK is charged with:

  • one count, possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, unsafe storage of firearms, Section 86(2), Criminal Code;
  • one count, unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, Section 92(3), Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of restricted weapon with ammunition without license/registration, Section 95(2), Criminal Code; and
  • two counts, possess firearm contrary to order, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code.

46-year-old Sherry Bonnor from Alida, SK is charged with:

  • one count, possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, unsafe storage of firearms, Section 86(2), Criminal Code;
  • one count, unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, Section 92(3), Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of restricted weapon with ammunition without license/registration, Section 95(2), Criminal Code.

21-year-old Dusty Bonnor from Alida, SK is charged with:

  • two counts, possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, unsafe storage of firearms, Section 86(2), Criminal Code;
  • one count, unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, Section 92(3), Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of restricted weapon with ammunition without license/registration, Section 95(2), Criminal Code;
  • one count, theft, forgery, misuse of credit card, Section 342(1), Criminal Code; and
  • two counts, fail to comply with probation order, Section 733.1(1), Criminal Code.

A male youth was also charged with:

  • one count, possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, Section 92(3), Criminal Code;
  • one count, unsafe storage of firearms, Section 86(2), Criminal Code;
  • one count, breaking, entering, and committing, Section 348(1)(b), Criminal Code;
  • two counts, fail to comply with probation order, Section 733.1(1), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, possession of restricted weapon with ammunition without license/registration, Section 95(2), Criminal Code.

We are unable to identify the male youth as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Ashley Myers, Jody Bonnor, Sherry Bonnor, Dusty Bonnor, and the male youth are scheduled to appear in court in Estevan on July 29, 2024.
