On December 24, 2024, at 1:30 pm, Steinbach RCMP received a report that a skid-steer loader had fallen through the ice on a pond located at an address in the RM of Hanover.
Steinbach RCMP attended, along with local fire and EMS.
Officers were advised that a 58-year-old male was operating the skid-steer loader on the pond when it went through the ice.
With the assistance of the Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team (HEART), the body of the 58-year-old male was recovered later that afternoon.
Steinbach RCMP continue to investigate.
