Spruce Plains (Neepawa) RCMP have advised that approximately 1 hour ago, searchers located the pickup truck, with George inside, on a rural road north west of Rapid City.

Local first responders provided immediate medical assistance, but he was pronounced deceased on scene.

On November 22, 2024, at 8:20 pm, Spruce Plains (Neepawa) RCMP received a report of a missing elderly male who had not returned home from a drive earlier that afternoon.

George Haslen, 81, was last seen yesterday afternoon at 3:00 pm when he left his home in his white 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn pickup truck with Manitoba licence plate BEA 873. (stock photo attached)

He's described as being 6'1", 175 lbs with grey hair and wearing a red plaid flannel shirt, grey pants, blue hat and winter boots.

Extensive patrols by the RCMP and his family have yielded negative results so far.

Police and family are concerned for his wellbeing as he's not dressed for the weather.

If you've seen George or his vehicle, you're asked to call the Neepawa Detachment of the Spruce Plains RCMP at 204-476-7340, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477, or secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com.
