Jordan Bay, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia

News release

Shelburne RCMP is investigating after reports of shots fired at a residence.

On October 10 at approximately 9:00 p.m., Shelburne RCMP responded to a report of shots being fired into a residence on Hammond Rd. in Jordan Bay. Officers responded and located evidence of more than six rounds having been fired from a rifle. There were no injuries reported.

The RCMP believe that the residence and its occupants were targeted for unknown reasons.

RCMP Forensic Identification Section and investigators continue to pursue leads in the case and have obtained video surveillance of the suspect vehicle. It appears that a vehicle, possibly a dark-coloured sedan, stopped along the roadway within approximately 50 metres of the residence. Two people then exit the vehicle and the shots are fired. The vehicle fled the area before officers arrived.

The investigation is ongoing and the Shelburne RCMP is seeking the public's assistance in collecting further information.

Anyone with information about this incident, including the people or vehicle involved, is asked to contact Shelburne RCMP at 875-2490.
