Community: Resolute Bay, Nunavut

On November 22, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m, the Resolute Bay RCMP received a request to check on the well being of a person residing at a residence.
When police arrived, they located a male and a deceased female. The male was arrested and taken into RCMP custody.
The Nunavut RCMP Major Crimes unit have charged Babah Kalluk (44 years old) with:
- First degree murder, Section 235(1) C.C
Kalluk was flown to Iqaluit, Nunavut and was remanded into custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for January 7, 2025.
