Red Deer RCMP crime reduction team arrest two individuals

On Aug. 20, 2024, at approximately 5 p.m., Red Deer RCMP Crime reduction team, with the assistance of the Central Alberta Crime Reduction Unit and RCMP Air Services, arrested two individuals in the Inglewood neighbourhood of Red Deer. Officers were conducting patrols within Red Deer and located a driver that was prohibited and wanted on warrants. As the investigation continued, officers located Methamphetamine and Cocaine in their possession, along with items consistent with drug trafficking.

As a result of our investigation, two individuals have been arrested, a 24-year-old individual, a resident of Red Deer, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and driving while prohibited. A 32-year-old individual, a resident of Rocky Mountain House, Alta., has be charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

As both are currently awaiting judicial interim release hearings, no additional information on the suspects is available at this time. An update is expected.
