RCMP West District GIS executes search warrant on home and seizes hashish and contraband tobacco, one man charged

Sixty-three-year-old Andrew Noseworthy of Grand Falls-Windsor is charged with a number of offences following the execution of a residential search warrant on July 15, 2024, by RCMP NL's West District General Investigation Section (GIS).

The warrant, authorized under the Excise Act, was executed at a residence on Seventeenth Avenue in Grand Falls-Windsor. Noseworthy was arrested on the property. Officers located and seized the following items:

  • More than 60,000 individual cigarettes
  • Approximately 2.25 Pounds of suspected Hashish
  • Nearly $17,000.00 of Canadian currency

Noseworthy is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of contraband Cannabis – Cannabis Control Act
  • Possession of unstamped tobacco – Excise Act, 2001
  • Possession of contraband tobacco – Revenue Administration Act

He is set to appear in court on September 4, 2024. The investigation is continuing.
