RCMP stop 31 impaired drivers in September

October 2, 2024, RCMP HQ - RCMP stopped 31 impaired drivers in September; this includes impaired drivers by alcohol (21), drug (7), drug and alcohol (2) and those who refuse a police test demand (1). Note that many of these cases are awaiting blood sample results prior to charges being laid. The total arrests by RCMP so far in 2024 now stands at 196, last year RCMP in PEI made over 230 impaired driving arrests.

"If you plan on using alcohol or drugs, plan on getting a sober ride," says Cpl Gavin Moore the PEI RCMP Media Relations Officer.
