RCMP seize firearms and drugs; man and woman arrested

The New Brunswick RCMP has seized firearms and drugs, and arrested a man and a woman in connection with a drug investigation in Kingston Peninsula, N.B.

On August 13, 2024, at approximately 4 p.m., members of the New Brunswick RCMP's Southeast Crime Reduction Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Route 845 in Kingston Peninsula, in connection with an ongoing investigation.

During the search, police seized a number of items, including:

  • Unsafely stored firearms
  • Prohibited firearms
  • Firearm accessories
  • Ammunition
  • A taser
  • Quantities of suspected methamphetamine
  • Quantities of suspected cocaine
  • Drug paraphernalia

A 48-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman, both from Kingston Peninsula, N.B., were arrested at the scene without incident. They were both later released with conditions pending a future court date.

The public also plays an important role in helping to reduce, prevent and solve crime, including the trafficking of illegal drugs. Anyone with information about, or who suspects, illegal drug activity in their neighbourhood is asked to contact their local police. The investigation is ongoing.
