Suspect and stolen ATV

The Keswick RCMP is seeking the public's help identifying a man following a theft of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and a single-vehicle crash in Hanwell, N.B.

On November 20, 2024, at approximately 12 p.m., members of the Keswick RCMP detachment responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle where a man was ejected from the motorcycle on Route 640 near the intersection of Smith Road, in Hanwell.

While police were headed to the scene, they were advised that the man, and sole occupant of the motorcycle, had fled from seen, leaving the motorcycle behind and stole an ATV from a nearby residence. The ATV was last seen traveling on Bromley Avenue in Hanwell.

At the time of the incident, the man was wearing a black t-shirt and an orange tuque.

The ATV is described as a red Honda TRX 500 with New Brunswick licence plate XT 5360, and vehicle identification number 1HFTE31K294400119. At the time of the ATV theft, it was towing an orange trailer, however the trailer has since been recovered.

Through the investigation, it was discovered that the motorcycle involved in the original crash was also reported stolen to police on November 19, 2024, from the Rollingdam area.

Police are now releasing a photo of the suspect in hopes that, despite the quality, someone may recognize him.

If you were in the Hanwell area between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., and witnessed suspicious activity, if you recognize the individual or the ATV, or if you have information that may help further the investigation, please contact the Keswick RCMP at 506-357-4300.
