September 3, 2024, RCMP Headquarters - RCMP Traffic Services are out on patrol with the goal of making the roads safer for everyone. Here is a summary of what they were up to last week:

August 28:

  • Four drivers charged with driving at over 50km/h over the speed limit.
  • Five checkpoints, and over 90 summary offence tickets issued.
  • Five drivers were issued tickets for driving with a suspended or invalid license.
  • Two drivers were charged with not complying with the ignition interlock conditions.
  • Five unsafe vehicles were towed for defects that would endanger the public.
  • One traffic stop found a man with an outstanding warrant upon arrest a small amount of cocaine was seized.

August 29:

  • An impaired driver was stopped and arrested in the morning and a second was found in Stratford in the afternoon. Both were impaired by drugs. These are two of the six impaired drivers RCMP stopped this week end.

August 30:

  • A suspended driver was arrested for failing to provide a sample of his breath into a roadside screening device.
  • A woman was arrested for an outstanding warrant and possession of a controlled substance, along with the two passengers. In total approximately 20 grams of methamphetamine was seized from the vehicle.

August 31:

  • At a checkpoint in Milton a man was arrested for prohibited driving and had outstanding warrant of arrest for failing to attend court due to a previous prohibited driving charge.
