September 3, 2024, RCMP Headquarters - RCMP Traffic Services are out on patrol with the goal of making the roads safer for everyone. Here is a summary of what they were up to last week:
August 28:
- Four drivers charged with driving at over 50km/h over the speed limit.
- Five checkpoints, and over 90 summary offence tickets issued.
- Five drivers were issued tickets for driving with a suspended or invalid license.
- Two drivers were charged with not complying with the ignition interlock conditions.
- Five unsafe vehicles were towed for defects that would endanger the public.
- One traffic stop found a man with an outstanding warrant upon arrest a small amount of cocaine was seized.
August 29:
- An impaired driver was stopped and arrested in the morning and a second was found in Stratford in the afternoon. Both were impaired by drugs. These are two of the six impaired drivers RCMP stopped this week end.
August 30:
- A suspended driver was arrested for failing to provide a sample of his breath into a roadside screening device.
- A woman was arrested for an outstanding warrant and possession of a controlled substance, along with the two passengers. In total approximately 20 grams of methamphetamine was seized from the vehicle.
August 31:
- At a checkpoint in Milton a man was arrested for prohibited driving and had outstanding warrant of arrest for failing to attend court due to a previous prohibited driving charge.
