July 4, 2024, Cornwall PEI - Queens District RCMP responded to a report of an assault in a public place in Cornwall, the accused was later apprehended using the RCMP police dog.

On July 3, 2024 at 5:40 p.m. Queens district RCMP were called to a report of an assault in a public place in Cornwall. The accused had left the area when police arrived. The investigation led police to a residence in Covehead. The suspect fled from there and the RCMP police dog was used to track and apprehend the 30-year-old Canoe Cove man who was found hiding in an construction trailer nearby. He was later release on strict conditions and will appear in court in Charlottetown on August 5, at 1:00 p.m.
