Update: The missing person was located deceased at sea.
Today, the Canadian Coast Guard announced that the search and rescue operation for a missing employee of the Canadian Coast Guard vessel, CCGS Vincent Massey, has been concluded. The search was turned over to the RCMP late last evening. RCMP NL is investigating the matter as a missing person at sea.
The investigation is continuing.
