A fatal collision between a vehicle and a cyclist is being investigated by the Cumberland County District RCMP.
On August 3, at approximately 10:30 a.m., RCMP officers, fire services, and EHS responded to a report of a collision near the 6500 block of Hwy. 366 in Amherst Shore. Officers learned that a Honda Odyssey was travelling east on the highway when it collided with a bicycle that was also travelling east.
The cyclist, a 39-year-old Wolfville man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Honda, a 32-year-old Amherst woman, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital by EHS. Three passengers in the vehicle, all children, were not physically injured.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
Hwy. 366 was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.
Our thoughts are with the victim's loved ones at this difficult time.
