RCMP investigates fatal ATV crash in Forties

Lunenburg District RCMP is investigating a fatal ATV crash that occurred in Forties.

On May 27, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Lunenburg District RCMP, fire services, and EHS, responded to a report of a side-by-side crash on a logging road near the 1100 block of Forties Rd. RCMP officers learned that the Polaris Rzr was travelling on the narrow gravel roadway when is rolled coming to rest on its roof.

One of four occupants, an infant from Forties, suffered life-threatening injuries. She was transported to hospital by EHS where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Two of the occupants, a 27-year-old female driver from Forties and a 52-year-old male passenger from New Ross, suffered serious injuries and were transported to hospital by EHS.

The fourth occupant, a child from Forties, suffered minor injuries. He was transported to hospital by EHS.

Forties Rd. was closed for several hours but has since reopened.

The investigation remains ongoing.
