A 48-year-old man from Brewers Mill, N.B., has been charged in connection with an investigation into child pornography.
The investigation, led by the New Brunswick RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, began in October 2022, following information received from the RCMP's National Child Exploitation Crime Centre.
On November 30, 2023, members of the New Brunswick RCMP ICE Unit, the Keswick detachment and the RCMP's Digital Forensic Services, executed a search warrant at a residence in Brewers Mill, N.B. A 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene, and police seized several electronic devices as part of their investigation. He was later released on conditions, pending a future court appearance.
On November 29, 2024, charges of possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography were laid against Dana Mitchel Chase in Fredericton Provincial Court. He will appear in court on January 7, 2025.
The New Brunswick RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation Unit includes members from the Saint John Police Force and the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force.
