Prince Albert RCMP: male charged after serious assault

On September 29, 2024 at approximately 8:15 p.m., Prince Albert RCMP received a report of a serious assault at a residence in Red Wing, SK.

Officers responded and located an injured adult male. He was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries described as serious in nature.

Investigation determined an altercation occurred between two adult males at a residence. As a result of the altercation, an adult male was seriously assaulted and forcibly confined. The adult male was able to escape and get assistance.

As a result of investigation, on October 1, 2024 at approximately 9:50 p.m., an adult male was arrested outside a residence in Red Wing, SK.

40-year-old Brian Arcand from Christopher Lake, SK is charged with:

  • one count, aggravated assault, Section 268(2), Criminal Code;
  • one count, forcible confinement, Section 279(2), Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88(1), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, unlawfully cause bodily harm, Section 269, Criminal Code.

Brian Arcand appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on October 1, 2024.
